Westinghouse HBU Topical (WCAP-19027) (Submittal 1Q26)
Alternative Source Term - RG-1.183 Rev. 2 (needed for burnup targets)
Reduced complexity for SNC submittal as Utility specific methods would not need approval
- Update Surveillance Frequency Control Program for 24-month cycles
- Generic Letter 91-04 approach Vogtle 1&2 - Potential 24 Month Fuel Cycles
Regulatory Considerations
- Increased Enrichment Rulemaking completed on schedule is essential to achieving our objectives and reduced risk associated with uncertainty in current regulatory frameworks
>> Changes to 50.46, 50.67, and 50.68 would be included to reduce/eliminate exemptions to support uprates and fuel cycle extensions
- Part 51 rulemaking outlined in SRM-SECY-24-0046 will inform environmental application content and approach 14
15
- SNC is committed to presubmittal engagement activities
- At least one more targeted presubmittal meeting will be held prior to the formal submittal
- Additional focused presubmittal meetings may be requested for special topics
- SNC will work with the designated PM to determine if readiness review presubmittal activities may be beneficial Next Steps
