Dear George Wilson:
By letter dated March 28, 2024 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML24088A059), TerraPower, LLC (TerraPower), on behalf of US SFR Owner, LLC (USO), a wholly owned subsidiary of TerraPower, submitted an application to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for a construction permit (CP) for Kemmerer PowerStation Unit 1, pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 50, Domestic Licensing of Production and Utilization Facilities, and Section 103 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.
The NRC staff is issuing the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the CP Application for Kemmerer Power Station Unit 1, Final Report. A notice of availability (NOA) of and request for comment on the draft EIS was published in the Federal Register on June 20, 2025 (90 FR 26333). The public comment period in the draft EIS ended on August 4, 2025, and the comments received on the draft EIS are addressed in Appendix H of the final EIS.
A NOA of the final EIS is anticipated to be published in the Federal Register on October 23, 2025. The final EIS is available for public inspection at the NRC Public Document Room, located at One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland 20852, or in the NRCs ADAMS Public Documents collections at https://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html under the accession numbers ML25287A017. The final EIS and related documents are also available from the NRCs TerraPower website: https://www.nrc.gov/reactors/new-reactors/advanced/who-were-working-with/applicant-projects/terrapower. The NOA for the final EIS is available at in ADAMS under Accession No. ML25274A101.
