ISSUANCE OF SUBSEQUENT RENEWED FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NOS. DPR-24 AND DPR-27 FOR POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2
Dear Robert Coffey:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has issued Subsequent Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-24 and DPR-27 to NextEra Energy Point Beach, LLC (NextEra) for Point Beach Nuclear Plant (Point Beach), Units 1 and 2, respectively (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML25223A030).
The NRC issued the subsequent renewed facility operating licenses upon the completion of the NRC staff safety and environmental reviews of the NextEra application dated November 16, 2020 (ML20329A292), as supplemented by the following letters:

DPR-24 and DPR-27 will expire at midnight on October 5, 2050, and at midnight on March 8, 2053, for Point Beach, Units 1 and 2, respectively.
In the Safety Evaluation Related to the Subsequent License Renewal of Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2, dated February 2022 (ML22054A108), as corrected in May 2022 (ML22140A127), the NRC staff documented its safety review of the Point Beach subsequent license renewal application, which determined that NextEra had met the requirements of 10 CFR 54.29(a). A supplement to this safety evaluation was issued on August 27, 2025 (ML25239A019). In its Record of Decision (ML25223A031) and in NUREG-1437, Supplement 23, Second Renewal, Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants, Supplement 23, Second Renewal, Regarding Subsequent License Renewal for Point Beach Nuclear Plant Units 1 and 2, Final Report, dated August 2025 (ML25191A238), the staff documented its environmental review of the Point Beach subsequent license renewal application as is required by 10 CFR 54.29(b).
to this letter contains Subsequent Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-24 and DPR-27 for Point Beach, Units 1 and 2, respectively, and the Technical Specifications.
No changes were made to the Technical Specifications as a result of subsequent license renewal. Enclosure 2 to this letter contains the Record of Decision. A copy of the Federal Register notice of issuance of the Point Beach subsequent renewed facility operating licenses (ML25223A333) is provided as Enclosure 3 to this letter and this notice was sent to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
