Christopher D. Wilson Director, License Renewal Constellation Energy Generation, LLC 200 Constellation Way, KSA-3E Kennet Square, PA 19348

SUBJECT:

REVISION OF SCHEDULE FOR THE REVIEW OF THE DRESDEN NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNITS 2 AND 3, SUBSEQUENT LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (EPID NOS. L-2024-SLR-0000 AND L-2024-SLE-0002)

(DOCKET NUMBERS: 50-237 AND 50-249)

Dear Christopher D. Wilson:

By letter dated April 17, 2024 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Package Accession No. ML24108A007), Constellation Energy Generation, LLC (CEG or the applicant) submitted an application for subsequent license renewal of Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-19 and DPR-25 for Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Units 2 and 3 (DNPS),

to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or staff), pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 54, Requirements for Renewal of Operating Licenses for Nuclear Power Plants.

By letter dated June 14, 2024 (ML24128A274), the staff concluded that the application was acceptable for docketing. By letter dated August 2, 2024 (ML24184A171), the staff issued the staffs projected review schedule for the DNPS license renewal application.

The purpose of this letter is to inform you of changes in the review schedule for the DNPS subsequent license renewal application (SLRA). The revisions reflect several staff efficiencies that have been applied to the environmental and safety reviews since the original schedule was set.

The enclosure of this letter provides the staffs revised projected schedule for the DNPS SLRA review. The staff will strive to meet the milestones ahead of the revised schedule whenever feasible.

Based on the current status of the review and implemented efficiencies, the staff estimates that the review of the SLRA will take approximately 12,200 hours0.00231 days
0.0556 hours
3.306878e-4 weeks
7.61e-5 months
to complete. This reflects an estimate of 6,950 hours0.011 days
0.264 hours
0.00157 weeks
3.61475e-4 months
for the safety review and 5,250 hours0.00289 days
0.0694 hours
4.133598e-4 weeks
9.5125e-5 months
for the environmental review.

These estimates are a reduction from the original estimates of 8,000 for the safety review and 6,000 hours0 days
0 hours
0 weeks
0 months
for the environmental review.

If you have any questions related to this review schedule, please contact Mark Yoo at Mark.Yoo@nrc.gov.
