dated March 15, 2022 (ML21305A016)

Pursuant to the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 10, Parts 50, 51, and 54, Constellation Energy Generation, LLC (CEG) hereby applies for the renewal of the Dresden Nuclear Power Station (DNPS), Units 2 and 3, Facility Operating Licenses, Nos. DPR-19 and DPR-25, respectively.

The existing DNPS Facility Operating Licenses are currently set to expire as follows:

At midnight on December 22, 2029 for Unit 2 (Facility Operating License No. DPR-19)

At midnight on January 12, 2031 for Unit 3 (Facility Operating License No. DPR-25)

CEG seeks to extend the operating term by 20 years beyond the current license expiration dates.

April 17, 2024 U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Page 2 The enclosed Subsequent License Renewal Application (SLRA) contains the information required by the License Renewal regulations set forth in 10 CFR Parts 54 and 51. In Reference 1, CEG (formerly Exelon Generation Company, LLC) requested exemption from 10 CFR 2.109(b), Effect of timely renewal application, which provides timely renewal protection to licensees that submit sufficient license renewal applications at least five years before the expiration of the existing license. Specifically, CEG requested that it be permitted to submit the DNPS Subsequent License Renewal Application no later than three years prior to the expiration of each units renewed operating license and still receive timely renewal protection under 10 CFR 2.109(b). In Reference 2, the NRC approved exemption from specific requirements of 10 CFR 2.109(b) for DNPS, Units 2 and 3. The DNPS SLRA meets the timeliness allowance approved in Reference 2.

As required by 10 CFR 54.21(b), current licensing basis changes which have a material effect on the content of this application will be submitted at least annually while the application is under NRC review, and at least three months prior to the scheduled completion of the NRC review.

Appendix A, Section A.5, of the enclosed DNPS SLRA provides a list of commitments made in this application. This list will be updated as required throughout the SLRA review process.
