Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1 Docket No. STN 50-528 Renewed Operating License No. NPF-41 Completion of License Renewal Activities for Unit 1 Prior to Entering the Period of Extended Operation Arizona Public Service Company (APS) submitted to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS) license renewal application in letter dated December 11, 2008, [Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML083510611] and supplemented by letters through March 17, 2011. The NRC review of the PVNGS license renewal application is documented in NUREG-1961, Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of Palo Verde Nuclear Generation Station, Units 1, 2, and 3, issued April 2011 [ADAMS Accession No. ML11095A011].
The Unit 1 Renewed Operating License Condition 2.C.(16)(b) states the following:
The [Updated Final Safety Analysis Report] UFSAR supplement, as revised, submitted pursuant to 10 CFR 54.21(d), describes certain future activities to be completed prior to and/or during the period of extended operation. The licensee shall complete these activities in accordance with Appendix A of NUREG-1961, "Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, Units 1, 2, and 3," issued April 2011.
The licensee shall notify the NRC in writing when activities to be completed prior to the period of extended operation are complete and can be verified by NRC inspection.
102-08957-JLS/MDD U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission ATTN: Document Control Desk Completion of License Renewal Activities for Unit 1 Page 2 Pursuant to License Condition 2.C.(16)(b) for Unit 1, this letter is submitted to notify the NRC that the activities to be completed prior to the period of extended operation noted in Appendix A of NUREG-1961 are complete. By submittal of this letter, APS considers License Condition 2.C.(16)(b) for Unit 1 to be satisfied.
No new commitments are being made to the NRC by this letter.
