Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS)
Units 1, 2 and 3 Docket Nos. STN 50-528, 50-529, and 50-530 License Renewal Application Pursuant to 10 CFR Parts 50, 51, and 54, Arizona Public Service Company (APS) hereby applies for the renewal of Facility Operating Licenses NPF-41, NPF-51, and NPF-74, for Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS) Units 1, 2, and 3, respectively. The current Facility Operating Licenses for PVNGS Units 1, 2, and 3 expire at midnight June 1, 2025, April 24, 2026, and November 25, 2027, respectively.
By this application, APS requests that the PVNGS Facility Operating Licenses be extended for 20 years beyond their current expiration dates to midnight, June 1, 2045, for Unit 1, April 24, 2046, for Unit 2, and November 25, 2047, for Unit 3.
The PVNGS license renewal application (LRA) is provided in the enclosure. The LRA includes an environmental report in Appendix E prepared in accordance with 10 CFR 54.23 and Subpart A of 10 CFR 51.
The commitments being made in this submittal are listed in Table A4-1 of Appendix A in the enclosed LRA. In addition, it is understood that 10 CFR 54.21(b) requires that each year following submittal of the license renewal application and at least 3 months before scheduled completion of the NRC review, an amendment to the renewal application must be submitted that identifies any change to the current licensing basis of the facility that materially affects the contents of the license renewal application, including the Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR) supplement.
