OF MARCH 20, 2025, CLOSED PRE-SUBMITTAL MEETING BETWEEN NEXTERA ENERGY SEABROOK, LLC AND THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION REGARDING A FUTURE AMENDMENT EMERGENCY ACTION LEVEL CHANGES (EPID L-2025-LRM-0025)
On March 20, 2025, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a closed teleconference meeting via Microsoft Teams with representatives from NextEra Energy Seabrook, LLC (NextEra). The purpose of the meeting was for the NRC staff and the NextEra representatives to conduct pre-submittal discussions on a future amendment for emergency action level changes of Seabrook Station, Unit No. 1 (Seabrook). The meeting notice is available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML25069A555.
During the meeting, the NRC staff and Constellation Energy Generation, LLC representatives discussed the future amendment. The amendment would be a reduction in effectiveness of Seabrooks current fire protection plan and emergency action level HU4(2), by modifying to containment fire detection system. NextEra described that the future amendment would be based off NEI 99-01 Revision 7. The NRC staff asked questions to gain an understanding of details regarding the future submittal. No decisions were made during the meeting.
