The purpose of this email is to summarize the clarification call conducted on December 20, 2024, regarding the subject draft Request for Additional information (RAI). The NRC staff identified the need for the requested information during the audit of Revision 1 of licensing topical report (LTR) NEDC-33934P/NEDO-33934, BWRX-300 Safety Strategy Licensing Topical Report, and issued the draft RAI on December 2, 2024.
On December 6, 2024, GE Hitachi responded to the three questions in the transmittal of the draft RAI including technical corrections and feedback on the proposed markings of Sensitive Unclassified Nonsafeguards Information. The NRC staff reviewed the corrections and considered the GE Hitachi feedback prior to conducting the clarification call.
During the clarification call, the NRC staff agreed to first pursue its request during the audit, to correct the technical errors, and to withhold the information identified by GE Hitachi. As such, the NRC staff will not issue the RAI as final at this time. The NRC staff will consider the other technical feedback from GE Hitachi prior to issuing the audit question.
