Thank you, Carolyn, We appreciate NRC staffs efforts to move this topic forward. In response to your three requests below, GE offers the following:
- 1. Yes, GE would like to have a clarification call on this draft RAI. Based on the available dates you provided in a separate email, GE proposes Tuesday, 12/17, 10 a.m.-11 a.m.,
for this clarification call. When sending the invite for this clarification call, please include the individuals listed below.
- 2. If issued prior to 1/6, GE requests 60 calendar days from the time of RAI issuance to respond to the RAI. Otherwise, GE requests 45 calendar days from the time of RAI issuance to respond to the RAI.
- 3. GE has one technical correction to the draft RAI, as well as proprietary concerns. GE has compiled these into a single document and posted to the Safety Strategy LTR Audit page of the ERR in a new folder titled RAIs.

The purpose of this email is to notify you of the availability of the subject draft Request for Additional Information (RAI) in BOX.
The draft RAI is provided to GEH to ensure that the request is understandable and that the regulatory basis for the request is clear.
The draft RAI is related to the NRC staff review of Revision 1 of licensing topical report (LTR) NEDC-33934P/NEDO-33934, BWRX-300 Safety Strategy Licensing Topical Report, submitted by letter dated June 21, 2024 (Agencywide Documents Management and Access System (ADAMS) Package Accession No. ML24173A199). The NRC issued an audit plan on July 16, 2024, to seek clarification, gain understanding, and verify information related to the subject LTR, and to identify whether information is needed to support a regulatory finding and subsequently submitted on the docket (ADAMS Package ML24144A188). During the audit, the NRC staff identified additional information needed to complete its review related to postulated loss-of-coolant accidents for the BWRX-300 design.

- 2. Can GEH respond to the RAI within 30 days of this email? If not, how long will it take for GEH to respond and the basis for the additional time?
- 3. Is the draft RAI correctly marked for Sensitive Unclassified Nonsafeguards Information?
