WATERFORD STEAM ELECTRIC STATION, UNIT 3 - ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF
RESPONSE TO NRC INSPECTION REPORT 05000382/2024013 AND NOTICE OF
VIOLATION
Dear Joseph Sullivan:
On August 20, 2024, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) cited Entergy Operations,
Inc. for the failure to ensure that all in-service steam generator tubes retained structural integrity
over the full range of normal operating conditions at Waterford as required by regulatory
requirements and documented as violation 05000382/2024013-01, Failure to Perform an
Adequate Steam Generator (SG) Operational Assessment. The Notice of Violation, enclosed with
Inspection Report 05000382/2024013 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System
Accession No. ML24228A261), required you to respond in writing within 30 days.
We have reviewed your response (0CAN122201, dated September 19, 2024, ML24263A158) and
find that it meets the requirements of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 2.201. We have
no further questions at this time and will review the implementation of your corrective actions
during a future inspection to determine whether full compliance has been achieved and
maintained.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Agencys Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy
of this letter will be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public
