SUBJECT:

WITHDRAWAL OF AN AMENDMENT REQUEST (EPID L-2022-LLA-0105)

Dear Bob Coffey:

By letter dated July 30, 2022 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML222136A045), as supplem ented by letters dated October 5, 2022, January 17, 2023, and February 10, 2023 (ML22278A076, ML23017A226, and ML23041A341, respectively), Florida Power & Light Company applied for amendments for the Turkey Point Nuclear Generating Unit Nos. 3 and 4 (Subsequent Renewed Operating License Nos. DPR-31 and DPR-41, respectively). The proposed license amendment requests would permit the use of digital instrumentation and controls for the reactor protection system, engineered safety features actuation system, and nuclear instrumentation system. In addition, the proposed amendments would allow use of safety related video display units; allow use of a non-safety-related diverse actuation system; allow changes to the control room; allow the automation of channel checks, channel operational tests, and actuation logic tests; change instrumentation allowable values for affected functions; change the definitions of channel check and channel operational test to account for the automation; and change the surveillance frequencies of affected channel checks, channel operational tests, and actuation logic tests.

B. Coffey

Subsequently, by letter dated June 19, 2024 (ML24171A005), you withdrew the amendment request. The purpose of this letter is to advise that the above-cited application is being treated as withdrawn. Notice of Consideration of Issuance of the proposed amendment had not been published in the Federal Register.

Sincerely,

/RA/
