Constellation LG-24-063 May 28, 2024 ATTN: Document Control Desk U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C. 20555-001 Limerick Generating Station, Unit 1 Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-39 NRC Docket No. 50-352 10 CFR 50.4

Subject:

Completion of License Renewal Activities Prior to Entering the Period of Extended Operation at Limerick Generating Station

Reference:

1. Issuance of Renewed Facility Operating Licenses for Limerick Generating Station, Units 1 and 2, dated October 20, 2014 (ML14268A481)
2. NUREG-2171 Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of Limerick Generating Station, Units 1 and 2, dated September 2014 (ML14276A156)

Pursuant to Limerick Generating Station (LGS) Unit 1 Renewed Facility Operating License Condition 2.C(25)(c) issued per Reference 1, Constellation Energy Generation, LLC (CEG) is providing the following notification of the status of activities required by LGS Unit 1 License Conditions 2.C(25)(a) and 2.C(25)(b).

Pursuant to Limerick Generating Station (LGS) Unit 1 Renewed Facility Operating License Condition 2.C(25)(a) issued per Reference 1, CEG confirms that establishment of LGS Unit 1 new programs and enhancements to existing programs of Reference 2 are complete, with one exception. The enhancement for the existing Buried Piping and Tanks program to perform trending of the cathodic protection testing results to identify changes in the effectiveness of the system and to ensure that the rectifiers remain operational at least 85% of the time, and cathodic protection effectiveness will be maintained greater than 80% has not been fully implemented. Actions are being implemented to repair and potentially add additional cathodic protection anodes to improve system performance. These actions will be completed prior to entering the period of extended operation (PEO). Certain license renewal programs and activities described in the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report have been revised as allowed by LGS Unit 1 License Condition 2.C(24).

Pursuant to Limerick Generating Station (LGS) Unit 1 Renewed Facility Operating License Condition 2.C(25)(b) issued per Reference 1, CEG confirms that inspection and testing activities designated to be completed prior to the period of extended operation (PEO) have been performed except for the following items that will be completed prior to entering PEO. The open actions are associated with the examination of the coatings on the 1A Reactor Enclosure Cooling Water Heat Exchanger (supporting the Open Cycle Cooling Water Aging Management Program) and inspection of the enclosed metal bus on the 101 Transformer (supporting the Metal Enclosed Bus Aging Management Program).
