SUBJECT: RIVER BEND STATION - ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RESPONSE TO NOTICE OF
VIOLATION AND NRC INSPECTION REPORT 05000458/2023003
Dear Phil Hansett:
This letter acknowledges your letter to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) dated
December 7, 2023 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)
Accession No. ML23341A031), which provided a response to the Notice of Violation that was
issued in NRC Inspection Report 05000458/2023003 (ADAMS Accession No. ML23310A032).
This Notice of Violation involved a failure to obtain a license amendment for a change to the
licensing basis for the River Bend Stations ultimate heat sink.
We have reviewed your response and find that it meets the requirements of 10 CFR 2.201. We
have no further questions at this time and will review the effectiveness of your corrective actions
during a future inspection to determine whether full compliance has been achieved and
maintained.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of
this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRCs Public Document
Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of the NRC's Agencywide
Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC
Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
