Subject:
Hybrid Pre-Application Observation Public Meeting to Discuss Framatomes Advanced Fuel Management License Amendment Requests Date: July 12, 2023 On July 12, 2023, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held an observation public meeting with Framatome to discuss two future amendments to their fuel facility license.
Following introductions by the NRC and Framatome staff listed in Enclosure 1, Stephen Poy of the NRC provided opening remarks. Timothy Tate of Framatome in his introductory remarks indicated that the presentation would discuss a facility wide enrichment change to support advanced fuel management, and a single building enrichment change to support the advanced reactor fuel. Mr. Tate described the business needs for each amendment, outlined the agenda for the meeting and noted that the closed portion of the meeting would provide additional detail on the content of the licensing actions, schedule for submitting the amendments, proposed changes, environmental impact considerations, integrated safety analysis summary and criticality safety analyses, and project milestones.
