RE: NMP1 Revised Responses for Audit Questions 17 and 19 Date:

Tuesday, July 11, 2023 5:21:00 PM

Matt, The staff has reviewed the draft revised responses for AQ-17 and AQ-19. They do not have any follow-up questions on draft response-17 but did have a request for further information on the draft response-19 as explained below. Please provide this information in the updated draft responses, if possible on the eDocs portal for our review consideration prior to submitting formally.

In the draft response to AQ-19, the licensee stated that average local wind directions were used to determine the percentage of stack failures which are assumed to result directly in core damage. They also stated that the percentage of winds assumed to cause failure of the stack were conservatively increased by 2% (from 31% to 33%) for straight winds. The staff requests review of a summary of the wind direction data the licensee used as well as the calculations and assumptions made to derive the 33%

value for percentage of stack failures that would result in core damage.

Thanks,
