AMENDMENT REQUEST FOR THE MODEL NO. RAJ-II PACKAGE
Dear Scott Murray:
By letter dated September 23, 2022 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System
[ADAMS] Accession No. ML22266A187), you requested a revision and renewal of U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Certificate of Compliance (CoC) USA/9309/B(U)F-96 to allow for the transportation of GNF3 10x10 fuel assemblies with enrichments up to 8 wt.% 235U.
This letter is to confirm our preliminary evaluation and projection of our current review schedule I had shared with you on January 19, 2023. The schedule includes the issuance, if needed, of a request for additional information (RAI) by the end of May 2023, and, provided that we receive your responses to the RAI within 30 days after its issuance, we anticipate issuing a revised CoC by early October 2023. The NRC staff estimates that completing the review of your amendment request will require approximately 350 staff hours which corresponds to about $101,500, along with $25,000 for Oak Ridge National Laboratory contract support costs. We will promptly communicate significant schedule and/or cost changes, if any.
