QUAD CITIES NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 - EXEMPTION FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF 10 CFR PART 2, SECTION 2.109(B)
RELATED TO SUBMISSION OF SUBSEQUENT LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (EPID L-2023-LLE-0004)
Dear Mr. Rhoades:
In response to your application dated January 27, 2023, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has approved the enclosed exemption from specific requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), part 2, section 2.109(b), for Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station (Quad Cities), Units 1 and 2. Pursuant to this exemption, if Constellation Energy Generation, LLC, submits a subsequent license renewal application for the Quad Cities units no later than December 14, 2029, which is 3 years prior to the expiration of each units operating license, the existing operating licenses for Quad Cities, Units 1 and 2 will be in timely renewal under NRC regulations until the NRC has made a final determination on the subsequent license renewal application.
A copy of the exemption is enclosed. The exemption has been forwarded to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
