SUMMARY
OF THE OCTOBER 5, 2022, PUBLIC MEETING WITH THE NUCLEAR ENERGY INSTITUTE TO DISCUSS THE REVIEW OF NEI 99-01, REVISION 7 DRAFT G, DEVELOPMENT OF EMERGENCY ACTION LEVELS FOR NON-PASSIVE REACTORS On October 5, 2022, the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a public meeting with the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) and industry representatives to discuss the review of NEIs draft guidance entitled, NEI 99-01, Revision 7 Draft G, Development of Emergency Action Levels for Non-Passive Reactors. The public meeting was held virtually. The meeting notice and agenda, dated September 13, 2022, are available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) under Accession No. ML22256A176. A list of attendees is provided in the enclosure.
During the public meeting, the NRC staff discussed comments with the NEI representatives and these comments are available in ADAMS under Accession No. ML22277A444. This meeting is the latest in a series of meetings regarding the NRC staffs comments to NEIs draft guidance document. Revisions from prior drafts of the document were provided during public meetings on April 13, 15, 20, and 22; September 22; October 20, 2021, and June 13, 2022.
