SUMMARY
OF THE OCTOBER 4, 2022, PREAPPLICATION PUBLIC MEETING WITH SMR, LLC REGARDING INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL ARCHITECTURE The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held an Observation Public Meeting on October 4, 2022, with SMR, LLC (SMR), a Holtec International Company. This meeting functioned as a preapplication engagement for SMR to present information related to its proposed instrumentation and controls architecture concepts for their SMR-160 reactor design.
Specifically, SMR requested the meeting to discuss a White Paper on the topic and to receive staff feedback.1 This hybrid preapplication meeting had attendees from SMR, LLC, Holtec International, LLC, the NRC staff and members of the public.
