Ameeting(phoneconference) betweenUnionElectric(Ameren Missouri), Framatome andNRC personnel isbeingplannedinordertodiscussalicenseamendment request(LAR)tobesubmitted in earlyOctober2022fortheCallaway Plant.Theamendment toberequested wouldsupportuseoffuel fromanew/different fuelvendor(Framatome, Inc.)fortheCallaway Plant,i.e.,foralimitednumber ofassemblies beyondthefourleadfuelassemblies thathavealreadybeenloadedintotheCallaway coreinaccordance withtheprovisions ofCallaway Technical Specification 4.2.1,FuelAssemblies.

Specifically, theLARwouldsupporttheuseofFramatome GAlAfuelassemblies atCallaway, as qualified inaccordance withCallaways vendorqualification program (VQP)forFramatome.

Thepresentation materials tobeusedforthemeetingareintheformofPowerPoint slidesprepared byAmerenandFramatome personnel. ThepurposeofthisletteristotransmittheslidestotheNRC staffinadvanceofthemeeting. Theslidestobeusedforthepublicmeetingareprovided in.

Theforthcoming meetingisintended toaddressthelicensing aspectsregarding therevisedplantouse Framatome GAlAfuel.Thelicensing planhasbeenmodified fromthatpresented inthepreviouspre submittal meetings conducted forthecloselyrelatedLARthatwaswithdrawn byAmerenMissouri per Reference 8,asacknowledged bytheNRCsletteridentified asReference 9.Thosemeetings were conducted onMay20,2021(References 1and2),October 14,2021(References 3,4and5),and February 28,2022(References 6and7),respectively.
