APPROVAL OF GLOBAL LASER ENRICHMENT GLEP-00009-R, STANDARD PRACTICE PROCEDURES PLAN, REVISION 2 (ENTERPRISE PROJECT IDENTIFIER L-2022-SPR-0009)
Dear Pat Jenny:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has completed the review of GLEP-00009-R, which is Revision 2 of the Standard Practice Procedures Plan (SPPP) for the Protection of Classified Matter for Global Laser Enrichment, LLC. The revisions were submitted via letter dated July 27, 2022 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System
[ADAMS] Accession Number ML22215A179) and supplemented via letter dated August 12, 2022 (non-public - ML22227A065). These submittals requested NRC review and approval for proposed changes to the SPPP for the protection of classified matter. The proposed changes support modification to the Fuels Growth Engineering Building.
The NRC staffs review of the SPPP, Revision 2, and an on-site inspection (inspection report number 07007033/2022402) confirmed that the revised SPPP meets the requirements in Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 95, and thereby provides reasonable assurance that GLE will continue to adequately protect classified matter. Based on the NRC staffs review documented in the enclosed security evaluation report, Revision 2 of the SPPP is approved.
This action closes Enterprise Project Identifier 000225/07007033/L-2022-SPR-0009.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records component of NRCs ADAMS. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC website at: http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html. The enclosed safety evaluation report will be withheld from public disclosure.
The enclosure to this letter contains security-related information. When separated from the enclosure, this letter is decontrolled.
