RAI B2.1.7-4a feedback Date:
Tuesday, June 28, 2022 9:37:34 AM Hi Rounette and James, please see below the feedback for RAI B2.1.7-4a. Please let me know if a public (closed) meeting is needed, if yes does Thursday June 30th works?
Although ONSs response to RAI B2.1.7-4a indicated that physical obstacles restrict total weld accessibility to ~50% of the total weld lengths of the core barrel flange circumferential welds and middle cylinder circumferential welds and the applicant has committed to inspect 100% of the accessible portions of these welds, the response does not firmly establish a performance-based acceptance criterion goal on the minimum weld coverage that would need to be achieved for demonstration of reasonable assurance of the condition of these welds.
Provide and justify an acceptance criterion for the minimum weld coverage criterion for the weld inspections of the core barrel top flange and cylinder circumferential weld types, where further actions would be initiated under the corrective actions program if that minimum weld coverage criterion is not achieved. This acceptance criterion should be included in the AMP.
Thanks Marieliz Johnson
