U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attn: Document Control Desk Washington, D.C. 20555-0001 RE: Turkey Point Unit 3 Docket No. 50-250 Reportable Event: 2021-004-00 ( Cancelation)
Date of Event: November 12, 2021 10 CFR 50.73 L-2022-047 March 28, 2022 Title: Cancelation of LER 2021-004, Through-Wall Leakage from Core Exit Thermocouple Tubing On 11/12/2021 Licensee Event Report 05000250/2021-004-00 was submitted pursuant to 10 CFR 50.73 (a)(2)(ii)(A), due to evidence of RCS pressure boundary through-wall leakage on a Core Exit Thermocouple (CET) tube.
Subsequent analysis performed by an independent laboratory found that there was no RCS Pressure Boundary through-wall leakage and that the observed leakage likely originated from a threaded compression fitting on a tubing joint. On 3/10/2022 FPL Engineering concluded that the observed condition was not an ASME Section XI through-wall flaw and is therefore not reportable. The original NRCOC notification, EN 55574, has been retracted. This letter serves to cancel LER 2021-004-00.
