Agencywide Documents Access, and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML21230A304.
Ladies and Gentlemen:
This is to amend the AO Decommissioning Plan submittal cover letter submitted on July 20, 2021 (ADAMS) Accession No. ML21230A304. We are changing the affirmation statement to match word for word the Oath or Affirmation requirement as described in NRC Regulatory Issue Summary 2001-018, "Requirements for Oath or Affirmation" (ADAMS) Accession No. ML01099021 l . It was brought to our attention that we should have also included the application for Termination of the ARRR License at the time we submitted the decommission plan as outlined in (10 CFR) 50.82(b)(l). There are no amendments or changes to the attached ARRR Decommissioning Plan; therefore, Decommissioning Plan will not be included along with this amended letter.
The document entitled "Decommissioning Plan for the Aerotest Radiography and Research Reactor fulfills Aerotest Operations obligation to submit ARRR's decommissioning plan on or before July 31, 2021 , as stated in AO letter dated November 18, 2020 (ADAMS) Accession No. ML20332A032.
We are applying for the Termination of ARRR License as required per 10 CRF 50.82(b)(l ).
ARRR holds license amendment No. 6 "Permanently Defueled Technical Specifications" issued December 6, 2021 (ADAMS) Accession No. ML21242A463. The License and Technical Specifications in Amendment No. 6 are written for the possession of the fuel, removal of the fuel
and decommissioning of the facility. No further amendments or changes are needed to the License or Technical Specifications. As stated in License section 2.F, this amended license is effective as of the date of issuance and until the Commission notifies the licensee in writing that the license is terminated.
