RE: DELAYS IN NRC REVIEW OF THE INC OUTER PACKAGE-RAW MATERIAL SHIPPING CONTAINER (OP-RMSC) PACKAGE REVIEW, DOCKET 71-9387

Dear Mr. Bollinger:

Your letter dated November 16, 2021 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML21334A355), requested the staff reconsider delaying the review of the Outer Pack-Raw Material Shipping Container (Model No. OP-RMSC) package. In your letter you state that as a result of a lack of shipment options, you may be forced out of business by the end of 2021 if the NRC review is delayed much longer. We understand your concerns and have coordinated internally and raised the priority of the review. We are currently in the process of finalizing the certificate and associated safety evaluation report and the current plan is to issue them by early January 2022. I communicated this revised schedule to your quality assurance manager, Mike Rose, by email on November 19, 2022.
