EDWIN I. HATCH - OPERATOR LICENSING WRITTEN EXAMINATIO N APPROVAL 05000321/2021302 AND 05000366/2021302
Dear Mr. Lewis:
The purpose of this letter is to confirm the final arrangements for the upcoming operator licensing examination at the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has approved the subject examinations, and you may administer the written examination in accordance with R evision 11 to NUREG-1021, Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors, during the week of December 20, 2021. The NRC staff will administer the operating tests during the weeks of December 6, 2021 and December 13, 2021. The list of the applicants approved to take the examination has been provided to y our office. The examination h as undergone extensive review by my staff and representatives responsible for licensed operator training at your facility. Based on this review, I have concluded that the examination meets the guidelines of NUR EG-1021 for content, operational, and discrimination validity. By administe ring this examination, you also agree that it meets NUREG-1021 guidelines and is appropriate for measuring the qualifications of licensed operator applicants at your facility. If you determine that this examination is not appropriate for licensing operators at your facility, do not administer the examination and contact me at 404-997-4662.
Please contact the Chief Examiner, Mr. David Lanyi, at 404-997-4487 if you have questions or identify any errors or changes in license level (reactor operat or or senior reactor operator) or type of examination (partial or complete written examination or operating test, or both) specified for each applicant approved to take the examination.
