Dear Mr. DeLaBarre:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission received the enclosed license amendment application (XCOM1309/01), dated March 22, 2021, from Curtiss-Wright Nuclear Division. The currently active license authorizes the export of nuclear safety class nozzle check valves to the pressurized water reactor at Unit 1 of the ShiDaoWan Nuclear Power Plant in China.
The purpose of this amendment is to 1) update the name of the current Intermediate Foreign Consignee from State Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd. (SNPEC) to Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute Co., Ltd (SNERDI); 2) add an additional business address for SNERDI as Intermediate Foreign Consignee; and 3) add Unit 2 of ShiDaoWan Nuclear Power Plant as an Ultimate Consignee.
Before taking action on this request, we would appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures and from the overall perspective of the Executive Branch, as to whether the requested amendments meet the applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.
