SUBJECT:
SHEARON HARRIS NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, UNIT 1 - CORRECTION TO AMENDMENT NO. 177 REGARDING ELIMINATION OF CERTAIN TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION REQUIRMENTS IN ALIGNMENT WITH IMPROVED STANDARD TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS (EPID L-2019-LLA-0160)
Dear Ms. Maza:
On July 9, 2020 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)
Accession No. ML20183A408), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued a correction letter for Amendment No. 177 to Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-63 for the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 1, which was issued on June 29, 2020 (ADAMS Accession No. ML20099F505). The amendment revised Technical Specification (TS) 3/4.10.3, Special Test Exceptions, Physics Tests, and TS 3/4.10.4, Special Test Exceptions, Reactor Coolant Loops, to eliminate the within 12 hours1.388889e-4 days
0.00333 hours
1.984127e-5 weeks
4.566e-6 months
restriction from Surveillance Requirement (SR) 4.10.3.2 for performing an Analog Channel Operational Test on the intermediate and power range neutron monitors prior to initiating physics tests and to eliminate the within 12 hours1.388889e-4 days
0.00333 hours
1.984127e-5 weeks
4.566e-6 months
restriction from SR 4.10.4.2 for performing an Analog Channel Operational Test on the intermediate range monitors, power range monitors, and P-7 interlock prior to initiating startup or physics tests, respectively.
During the processing of the July 9, 2020, correction letter, an error was inadvertently introduced on TS page 3/4 8-3. Subitem e, which was not part of any change of the license amendment request was inadvertently edited to read di.
The purpose of this letter is to issue a correction to TS page 3/4 8-3 for Amendment No. 177. The NRC concludes that the correction is entirely editorial in nature and does not change the staffs previous conclusion in the safety evaluation for Amendment No. 177, nor does it affect the no significant hazards consideration, as published in the Federal Register on December 31, 2019 (84 FR 72387). Enclosed, please find corrected TS page 3/4 8-3.
K. Maza If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact me at (301) 415-3867 or by e-mail at michael.mahoney@nrc.gov.
Sincerely,
/RA/
