September 29, 1989 The Honorable Martin Frost Member, United States House of Representatives NCNB Tower, Room 720 801 West Freeway Grand Prairie, Texas 75051

Dear Congressman Frost:

The Regional Administrator, Mr. Robert D. Martin, from NRC Region IV sent your letter of September 7, 1989, to our office for response. This letter concerned a request from Ms. Anne Nelson of the Citizens for Fair Utility Regulation requesting that summaries of meetings between the NRC and Texas Utilities Electric Company with regard to the Comanche Peak application for an operating license be posted in the public document room (PDR) at the University of Texas in Arlington.

It is the NRC's practice to make all documentation related to a nuclear power plant available in a local PDR in the vicinity of the plant. For Comanche Peak, the local PDR is in Glen Rose, Texas. In response to a similar request several years ago from the Citizens Association for Sound Energy in Dallas, we had made arrangements with the University of Texas in Arlington to place the NRC's responses to requests pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act and inspection reports in a " mini-PDR." Therefore, we will place the meeting summaries for the last six months and all future meeting summaries related to Comanche Peak in the mini-PDR in Arlington.

If we can be of any further help to you, please let us know.

Sincerely, Originai Sir.ned By:

hmes M. Taylor James M. Taylor Acting Executive Director for Operations
