By "BSEP-97-0277, Application for Amends to Licenses DPR-62 & DPR-71, Clarifying TS 4.0.5.f Re Use of NRC Staff Approved Alternatives to Recommendations of [[generic letter" contains a listed "[" character as part of the property label and has therefore been classified as invalid., NRC Staff Position of IGSCC in BWR Austenitic Stainless Steel Piping|letter dated July 25,1997]], you applied for an amendment to the Operating License Nos.
DPR-71 and DPR-62 for the Carolina Power & Light Company. The proposed change would have clarified Technical Specification 4.0.5.f regarding the use of NRC-approved attematives to the recommendations of NRC Generic Letter 88-01, "NRC Staff Position on IGSCC in BWR Austenitic Stainless Steel Piping." Subsequently, by letter dated January 30,1998, you withdrew the amendment request..
