Gentlemen:
This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Peggy R. Rescheske
of this office on June 19 through July 21, 1989, of activities at the Clinton
Power Station, authorized by NRC Operating Licence No. NPF-62, and to the
discussion of our finding, with Mr. J. S. Perry and others of your staff at
the conclusion of the inspection.
The inspection focused on your startup testing activities subsequent to the
initial refuel outage, specifically in the areas of core performance and
nuclear engineering. The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies
areas examined during the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection
consisted of a selective examination of procedures and representative records,
observations, anc interviews with personnel.
No violations of URC requirements were identified during'the course of this
inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Comaission's regulations, a copy of
