Gentlemen:
This transmits the January 31 to February 28,19%, routine inspection findings
of Mr. C. Holden and Mr. R. Freudenberger at the Maine Yankee Atomic Power
Plant, Wiscasset, Maine.
Those findings were based on observations of activ-
ities,
interviews,
and document
reviews and have been
discussed with
Dr. Boulette of your staff.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed. This report
found that the effort to correct the environmental qualification concerns iden-
tified on February 14, 1989, was well coordinated and demonstrated your organ-
ization's ability to react and correct issues that impact a multitude of plant
systems. Similarly, your efforts in the fire protection area are thorough and
resolving subtle issues that impact operation of fire protection systems.
