Dear Mr. Wilg'us:
SUBJECT:
CRYSTAL RIVER UNIT 3 - EMERGENCY DIESEL GENERATOR (EDG) VOLTAGE DIPS DURING BLOCK LOADING (TAC NO. 65331)
We have reviewed the information in LER.86-0151 and LER-87 007, and in your i
letters dated February 29, 1988 and Septerber 2,1988 with regard to voltage dips during block loading of the EDGs. This is of course only one of the i
outstanding matters related to the EDG and other electrical system problems.
Based on our review, we conclude that voltage levels are within the design I
basis of the plant. However, since the voltage levels are close to allowable limits, you should confirm the calculated values for the 480 and 120 voltages by testing at the next refueling outage along with the testing required to qualify the modified EDG and to demonstrate its performance and that of related modifications.
This coupletes our efforts on TAC ho. 65331.
i Sincerely, Original signed by l
