SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-361/97-14; 50-362/97-14
Dear Mr. Ray:
An NRC inspection was conducted June 9-13,1997, at your San Onofre Nuclear
Generating Station, Units 2 and 3 reactor facilities. At the conclusion of the inspection,
the findings were discussed with you and those members of your staff identified in the
enclosed report. The enclosed report presents the scope and results of that inspection.
The inspector determined that your physical security program was effectively implemented.

The material enclosed herewith contains Safeguards Information as defined by

10 CFR Part 73.21 and its disclosure to unauthorized individuals is prohibited by
l
Section 147 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended. Therefore, the material
will nDLbe placed in the Public Document Room.
