REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - RIVER BEND STATION UPDATED OFFSITE DOSE CALCULATION MANUAL (0DCM)
By letter dated February 28, 1989, Gulf States Utilities Company submitted the Semiannual Radioactive Effluent Release Report for River Bend Station for the period from July I to December 31, 1988. Enclosure I to that report is a
" Revision Log" consisting of 25 pages describing changes made to the River Bend Station ODCH during the reporting period. These pages that provide the explanation for the changes are only purt of the sutmittal required by Technical Specification 6.14.2.1.
For the reasons specified in the enclosure, we request that within 30 days of the receipt of this letter you provf.de a complete, legible copy of the current River Bend Station ODCM.
The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements contained in this letter affect fewer than ten respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.

By letter dated February 28,1989, GulfStatesUtilltiesCompany(licensee) submitted the Semiannual Radioactive Effluent Release Report for River Bend covering the period from July 1,1988 through Decenber 31, 1988. As Attachment I to this report, the licensee submitted 25 " Revision Log" pages describing changes made to the River Bend ODCM during this period. No package of rav!W MCM pages accompanied this submission, although these are called for by River Bend TS 5.14.2.1.a.
The importance of the ODCM as a stand-alone document of licensee comitments for radiological eff1 cents and environmental sonitoring has been emphasized by the publication of Generic Letter 89-01. This Generic Letter dated Os ;.ry 31,1989, established the mechmai9n for transferring the procedural detailsofalicensee'sRadiokgicalEffluentTechnicalSpecifications(RETS) to the ODCM in fulfillment of the Comission's Policy Statement on Technical Specifications Improvements.
In view of this development, it is essential that complete, legible copies of a licensee's current ODCM be availeble within the NRC and in the Public Document Room.
Therefore it is requested that the licensee provide to the NRC Document Control Desk for copying and distribution a complete, legible copy of the current River Bend ODCM presently in use at the plant.
