UNIT:
Catawba 1 DATE:
05/15/89 NARRATIVE
SUMMARY
Month:
April, 1989 Catawba Unit 1 began the month of April in an unplanned outage caused by inoperability of the Control Room Ventilation Sy: tem.
The unit returned to service at 1231 on 4/02, and following brief holds due to Condensate Booster Pump problems and Nuclear Instrumentation Calibration, reached 100% power at 1330 on 4/03. The unit then operated without any significant reductions until 4/19 at 2310, when the unit began a controlled shutdown to repair a Pressurizer l
Spray Valve and a Reactor Coolant System Pressure Instrument Tube leak. The i
unit was removed from service at 0914 on 4/20 for the above repairs, and 1
returned to service at 2224 on 4/22. The unit returned to 100% power at 0310 on 4/24, where it then operated for the remainder of the month, withcut any further significant reductions.
