SAFETY EVALUATION MASONRY WALL DESIGN, IE BL'LLETIN 80-11, NORTH ANNA POWER STATION UNITS NO. 1 AND N0. 2 (NA-1&2)
We have completed our review of your May 12, 1999 response to IE Bulletin 80-11, Masonry Wall Design. Our evaluation has concentrated on the validation of a number of masonry walls identified in the staff's original Safety Evaluation for IE Bulletin 80-11. By letter dated Nay 12, 1989 you identified 10 walls with specific identification numbers and actual boundary conditions.
In addition, a staff visit to NA-1&2 an July 19, 1989 confirmed the data and conditions provided in your May 11, 1989 submittal. Our evaluation finds the subject masonry walls to be accer table and our Safety Evaluation is provided as the enclosure to this letter.
We find the original issues of the WA-182 response to IE Bulletin 80-11 to be resolved end therefore acceptable.
Based on the above, we are closing Technical Assigr. ment Control (TAC) Number 42895.
A copy of this letter and the enclosure will be sent to Region II.
