CLOSURE OF CONFIRMATION OF ACTION LETTER FOR MCGUIRE UNIT 1 RESTART
. My letter of April 19, 1989 confirmed our agreement that certain actions -
following the McGuire Unit I steam generator tube rupture of March 7-8, 1989, would occur prior'to final decision regarding restart. This letter will acknowledge that these actions have been satisfactorily completed.. Discussion l
'of these specific actions is provided in the enclosed report. We also acknowledge your commitment to perform 100% bobbin coil eddy current inspection on each steam generator during the next refueling outage of each McGuire unit,' and to communicate these results to the NRC prior to the restart from each refueling i
outage.
i Accordingly, and as indicated to you during the May 5,1989 meeting, the NRC-'
l concurs with your decision to restart McGuire Unit 1.
