' Ceritlemen:
On November.3, 1988, Carolina Power & Light Company submitted a request for license amendment.for the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant, Units 1 and 2.
The proposed changes to the Technical Specifications clarify the operability l
requirements-for-the service water system. On May 23, 1989, the Company asked
- that NRC review of the license amendment be suspended until August 31, 1989, l
pending resolution of service water system issues raised during the recent NRC
.)
Diagnostic Evaluation at Brunswick. These issues are still under review by l
CP&L. As such, the Company hereby requests that the November 3, 1988 license amendment remain on hold for an additional 60 days, until October 30, 1989, pending resolution of the service water system issues.
