Areas examined during the. inspection included plant status, engineered safety

feature-system walkdown,; operational. safety verification, monthly maintenance

g~

observations, monthly surveillance observations,-startup testing, and approach '

'

_-to criticality. .Within these areas, the. inspection consisted of selective;

' examination of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, ~

..and observations by the NRC inspectors. The inspection findings are documented

in the' enclosed inspection report.

During this inspection,'it was found that certain 'f oyour activities-were in ,

violation of.NRC requirements. Conseq'uently, you.are required to respond to

this violation, in writing, in accordance with the provisions of Section 2.201<

of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2; Title 10' Code of Federal Regulations. ,

'Your. response should be based on the specifics contained in the Notice of ,

Violation enclosed with this letter. ~ Also during this inspection, a noncited

violation was identified. Corrective actions.were, initiated prior to the

, completion of this inspection which satisfied the criter.ia specified in

iSection V.A. of the General-Statement of Policy and Procedure for NRC

Enforcement Actions. Therefore,J rio written response to this~ violation will be

~

required.

We have.also examined actionEyou J have taken with regard to"previously

identified inspection findings.' The status of these items'is identified in.

paragraph 3 of the enclosed, report.

The response requested by this letter and the accompanying Notice is not subject
