We have reviewed your response regarding an allegation we forwarded to you by our letter dated June 27, 1989 (attached).
In that correspondence we requested you to perform an independent verification of the histories of the Allen Nuclear Associates (ANA) employees involved in eddy current testing-
.and make a comparison of the results achieved to the resumes they submitted.
Also compare the results_to.the requirements of the. job (s) they were assigned. We further requested you to conduct an overview inspection of.
e sample of ongoing eddy current testing and an independent inspection of a sample of' completed eddy current testing to demonstrate that scheduled work on safety-related systems was in fact completed. Finally we requested you to provide'the names of those employees of ANA assigned to the outage of 1987.and.again during the May-June 1988 outage.
Your. letter of July 26, 1989 (attached) describes the actions your staff took to resolve the above described issues. Based on the information provided related to the qualification requirements, in terms of formal education and actual training, coupled with the-NDT analysis techniques employed and the
. multiple oversight of the data provided.by the automated state of the art-equipment, your. response adequately addressed the issues. No violations of NRC requirements were identified. We' consider this allegation (RIII-88-A-Oll2).
