Gentlemen:
NUREG-1216, the generic Safety Evaluation Report (SER) on the operability / reliability of the emergency diesel generators manufactured by Transamerica Delaval,.Inc. (TDI) (see reference 1), requests licensees that J
own TDI emergency diesel generators to review the SER and respond to the implementation of the Phase II' items of the Owners Group Program.
TU Electric' provided the CPSES plant specific response to NUREG-1216 by letters logged TXX-6236, dated February 13, 1987 and TXX-89077, dated February 24, 1989 (see references 2 and 3).
In addition, TU Electric has completed the implementation of the recommendations of the Phase II items of the owners group program on TDI Emergency Diesel Generator except the following items:
1)
Component 02-475B, Air Butterfly valves - Addition of grease fittings to the valve shaft is recommended as a design improvement.

Component 02-630C, Conduit Supports - Addition of new supports is recommended for conduits 6A. 6B, 7A and 7B.
I 3)
Component 02-695A, Engine Shutdown Tubing - Modification of support ES-PSA-T10800 is recommended (right bank, governor end tube gang support).
Design change requests have been released for the implementation of the above items and they are scheduled to be completed for each respective unit before its respective fuel load, an 8909060153 890830 l
