-committed to provide the 10CFR50.54(f) certification of the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station (DBNPS), Unit Number 1 Safety Parameter Display System
.(SPDS) implementation _ status (requested by Generic Letter Number 89-06, Log Number l2927, dated' April.12, 1989) by August 25, 1989. TE-herein provides the requested certification.
The DBNPS SPDS meets the intent of NUREG-0737, Supplement 1.
Howeve:, with
-the additional guidelines contained in NUREG-1342, DBNPS has recently completed a' detailed review and determined additional improvements to the SPDS are needed'in the following areas:
Data Validation Screen Format Data Input Selection Documentation
. Potential alternative means for addressing these areas for improvement must be evaluated by Toledo Edison prior to developing the implementation schedule.
-This evaluation phase is expected to be sufficiently completed to provide for
-submittal of a detailed schedule for implementation of the SPDS improvements to the NRC by November 30, 1989. The implementation schedule must consider and'be effectively integrated with other ongoing and planned activities, including the. upcoming refueling and modification outage activities.
