-Attached.please find lettersidated August 31, 1987 and February 29, 1988, which originally transmitted these reports for the 1988 calendar year. Each has been provided with a-supplemental attachment which describes the identified release.
In addition, a transcription error in the February'29, 1988 report, which
. incorrectly quantifies the abnormal release has been corrected.

Dear Dr. Grace:
. Pursuant to McGuire Nuclear Station's Technical Specifications, attached is the
. station's-Semi-Annual Effluent Release Report (SERR), covering the period January.1, 1987 through June 30, 1987. Attachment I provides a summary of liquid cud gaseous effluert. releases, as well as solid wastes shipped offsite.
Also, a list of instrumentation which was inoperable during the period is provided.
As a result of radiation releases from McGuire Nuclear Station, no member of the public received an annual calculated dose exceeding those set forth in 40 CFR Part 190.
This determination was made considering that there are no other fuel cycle facilities nearby which would significantly increase the dose to any member 1
of the public.
A revision to McGuire's Offsite Dose Calculation Manual (ODCM) was submitted during the first half of 1987.

No revisions to McGuire's Process Control Program (PCP) were made in this period.
Technical Specifications require that revisions to both the PCP and ODCM be reported in the SERR.
