Subject:
Catawba Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-413 and 50-414 License Conditions 16 (Unit'1) and 10 (Unit 2) SGTR Technical Specification Amendment Steam Generator Tube Rupture Analysis
Dear Sir:
' This letter contains a revised proposed Technical Specification for' Catawba's Steam Generator Power Operated Relief Valves (PORVs). This change supersedes
. the proposed Technical Specification in my letter dated June 12, 1989.. However, the Bases and.the No Significant Hazards Analysis referenced'in my June 12, 1989 letter submitted by letters of December 4, 1987 and December 11, 1987 remain valid.. Also, the FSAR, analysis submitted with my August 24, 1988 letter remains unchanged.
- The changes to the proposed Technical Specification for the PORVs submitted on June.12, 1989 are to ensure the action statement requires a unit to be placed in a mode-that the Limiting Condition For Operation does not apply. Specifically, the requirement to continue to Hot Shutdown and place the Residual Heat Removal g
System.in service has been added to the Action statement.
~ Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.91 (b) (1) the appropriate South Carolina State Official is being provided a copy of this amendment request.
Very truly yours, h )#
