Subject: NRC Region I Inspection Report No. 50-309/89-06
Gentlemen:
This transmits the March 1 to April 7,1989, routine inspection findings of
Mr. C. Holden and Mr. R. Freudenberger, at the Maine Yankee Atomic Power Plant,
Wiscasset, Maine.
Those findings were based on observations of activities,
interviews, and document reviews, and have been discussed with Dr. Boulette of
your staff.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed. Several good
initiatives were noted in this inspection includir.g the preplanning associated
with the replacement of the control element drive cooling fans and the critical
self review that the fire protection program is receiving.
