MILLSTONE NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT NO. 3, GENERIC STEAM GENERATOR TUBE RUPTURE ANALYSIS (TAC N0. 67054)
We are in the process of reviewing your submittal concerning the use of the Westinghouse Generic Steam Generator Tube Rupture Analysis for Millstone Unit No. 3.
In order to resolve various outstanding concerns, our letter of February 15, 1989 contained a request for additional information (RFI). Our review of your April 6,1989 response to the RFI indicates that (1) data supporting operator response time confirmation will not be available until April 1991 and (2) it appears uncertain as to whether Northeast Utilities intends to respond to the NRC staff concerning the additional calculations associated with the Millstone Unit 3 Steam Generator Tube Rupture.
Based upon the long response times and uncertainties associated with the complete response to our February 15, 1989 RFI, we are terminating the subject review at this time.
Should the requested information be made available to the NRC staff, we would reinstitute the review at that time. Please continue to reference TAC No. 67054, with regard to this subject, in future correspondence.
