Gentlemen:

SUBJECT:
Schedule for Completion of the 10CFR50.63 Station Blackout Coping Assessment As stated in Reference 2, the schedule for completing part of the Omaha Public Power District (0 PPD) response to 10CFR50.63 would be transmitted at a later i
date. Specifically, OPPD committed to provide a schedule for meeting the l
requirements of 10CFR50.63 in analyzing the ability of Fort Calhoun to meet the 4 hour4.62963e-5 days
0.00111 hours
6.613757e-6 weeks
1.522e-6 months
coping criteria. A program set up between OPPD and Combustion Engineering will quantify the expected leak rate from the control rod drive mechanism (CRDM) seals. The test results are expected to validate the i
assumptions utilized in the reactor coolant system (RCS) coping analysis.
In the event that incons!stencies arise between the coping assessment and the results, contingency time has been included in the schedule for revision of the coping assessment, if necessary.
The tests, report preparation, and analysis reviews should be completed by i
December 31, 1989.
