THERMAL STRESSES IN PIPING CONNECTED I

TO REACTOR COOLANT SYSTEM i

As outlined in our letter (Serial No. 88-433A) dated March 15,1989, Virginia Electric and Power Company has performed inspections at North Anna Power Station Unit 2 to l

provide assurance that there are no existing flaws in that piping which may have been subjected to excessive thermal stresses in accordance with NRC Bulletin 88-08.

During the nondestructive examination required by Actions Requested No. 2, no relevant indications were found.

i Upon review of Supplement 3 to NRC Bulletin 88-08, we have identified one additional.unisolable line(14"-RH-401-1502-Q1) in the Residual Heat Removal System connected to the Reactor Coolant System that requires inspection. Inspection of this line will be performed during the next outage of sufficient duration. The results of this inspection will be submitted to you upon completion.
